The new statue of Saint Gemma Galgani for the first time was carried in procession on the occasion of the celebrations for the Stigmata of the Saint. The sculpture, created by Giancarlo Buratti, and hailed as the best ever made, was placed in the Museum dedicated to the Saint at the Monastery of Santa Gemma located on the outskirts of Lucca in Tuscany.
