Sculptor in Pietrasanta: Giancarlo Buratti Sculptor of expressiveness
"My sculpture has its roots in the classical art of the late eighteenth century." Working with sculpture for forty years has given me the skill needed to explore in depth the human spirit through art"
"In addition to his personal work, Giancarlo Buratti has for forty years created various commissioned sculptures including: portraits, monuments, sculptures of a religious theme, decorative sculptures, copies of sculptures of the past, etc. He has also collaborated with many artists including Jeff Koons, Gina Lollobrigida and Igor Mitoraj. The genre of sculpture that he loves most is the portrait. He has made several hundred of them, including of Ronald Reagan, Nicolas Sarkozy, Totò, Lamberto Vallarino Gancia, Gustaf XVI King of Sweden, John Paul II and Steve Jobs. Recently, he created the two-meter-tall bronze mermaid for the Starbucks store in Milan."
